The good boy of the Akatsuki!

Indeed. The only one with a sense of humor. Where would we be without Tobi? Where would the Akatsuki be without Tobi? I feel like he keeps them together, in a sense.
People say he can be a bit annoying, but I don't think so. He's so lovable, I'm telling you.

I want to see what people thing about his identity. Obito or Madara? Or.....?
I think he's Obito, but let me tell you my theory.

Spoiler:

After Obito got crushed by the rock, he was on the brink of death. As he was dying, he was inhabited by Uchiha Madara's soul, who promised him that he would stay alive. Later, Obito is rescued from under the boulder by none other then Zetsu. When he wakes up, all he remembers is his name, however. Because of the fear of somebody recognizing him, Zetsu changes his name to Tobi. Obito--->Tobi. Tobi becomes Zetsu's subordinate. When Tobi becomes "evil", it is Madara's spirit taking him over.

The above is MY theory. Not cannon.

Why Obito?

The attitude- Tobi's cheery personality mirrors Obito's personality.

The hair- Not much proof or anything, but seriously, look!

The sharingan- He has one eyehole in his mask. There's no proof that Obito's eye was crushed by the rock.

The clothes- The way Tobi covers himself up completly. Maybe because his body is crushed and mutilated? Did you notice he has bolts on the side of his body (under the cloak)?

Tobi didn't say he WAS Madara. He said he had the powers of Madara.

Spoiler:
	When Pein said "Madara ordered him" in Chapter 383, he could have been refering to the Madara inside Tobi.

Also, I'd like to know more about Tobi's abilities. Anyone curious?

I agree with everything, anikoku. (Gotta love that theory. XD) I want to see more of Tobi's abilities, too! I think it would be fun to find out.

Yeah,, Tobi says

Which would be translated as:

"The sharingan's true power... This power... Uchiha Madara's power."

"この" (kono) doesn't mean "my" in any way. They definitely translated it wrong.

*snorts* They were probably trying to suck people into beleive their ideas. If not, and if they translated it wrong, they have no right to be a translator. I hope they have a guilty conscience if they purposely translated it wrong.

Anyone have any ideas about Tobi's powers? I'm expecting more Zetsu-y things, like morphing into the ground. I was also hoping that he might have some sort of really goofy technique, like... oh, I dunno... Sennen Goroshi? Is that it? 1000 years of pain. XD

This is great. I love Sasuke's "what's this.." on the next page. He's totally dumbfounded! I believe has a resistance to attacks because of how his body was fixed after being crushed (only in my theory, yes.). I'm not saying that Tobi's a cyborg. But you saw the bolts. Major LOL time. Do you see how dumbfounded Naruto is? Did you see how dumbfounded Sasuke was? Oh, Tobi. You just have to love him! So, he can make things pass through his body. I doubt that was a clone or anything.

I forgot to mention how Tobi went into the ground and layed all those bombs down during the Deidara-Sasuke fight. He has a lot of skills from Zetsu-sempai, I bet.
So far, both of Tobi's tricks have made me laugh. That's what's so great about him. He's so funny, and cheery, and happy, and you can't help but feel good when you read about his antics.
