ok, right, why does this topic not exist yet?

So, for anyone who doesn't know what cosplay is:
It's when you dress up as a character from a manga or anime (most typically), but it can also be a character from a tv show, a movie, a book, a webcomic, anything.
It's a ton of fun, I have to say

so, personally, so far I've only cosplayed as Kisame-san.
However, for conbust, I'm going to Kisame-san, Kikyo (yes, the evil b*tch. I'm going as her with an arrow sticking out of her chest and drawings all over her face ), and Winry from fullmetal alchemist ()

Cosplay can be extrememly detailed or not. You can dress up with a specific outfit or an outfit you design yourself (which is very impressive if you do it right).

A lot of times you have to make an outfit or a weapon or such yourself (so for the Kikyo cosplay I have to make her pants, for the Kisame-san cosplay I had to make Samehada, with cf_chans help of course , etc.), sometimes you have to figure out how to make something (for Kikyo's shirt I took my old gi shirt and cut off the pants legs of it and sewed it to the sleeves ), but sometimes, if your lucky, you can just use clothes you already own (for most of my Winry cosplay I can just use clothes I own :3)

so yeah, what have you guys cosplayed as, who are you going to cosplay as, and how are you going to do it?

Well i have, and will be again, cosplayed as Sasori no Danna (♥) but in March for Conbust I'll also be Riza Hawkeye from FMA, which is gonna be awesome because Riza is just that amazing.

I'm so lame I'm just wearing wigs and buying outfits of the interweb.

yeah, but you're still going to have to style the wig (just don't use as much hair gel as you did for the Sasori wig cause that wig is seriously TERRIFYING )

I won't need much gel for Riza's wig. Just for her bangs so they swoop to the side.

The wig is less terrifying now that its distracted by its girlfriend.

I would recommend either buying some blue spiking gel (it exists, I'm pretty I have some purple somewhere) or just buy a blue wig and spike it. Spiking hair is not that difficult.

Not in that sense, more of....their hair going out.... (I guess he has a thing blondes)

So. I've only cosplayed as TWO PEOPLE. And guess who those two people are? INO AND DEIDARA. WHUT.

I want to cosplay as like, a million people. I don't even know if I'm gonna go to ConBust, though. So. Yeah. But really, Kanda. And Saix. And Zexion? And AXEL? AGH.

...But mainly Kanda. The only thing that's keeping me from that is the "HOW TO GET THE UNIFORM" topic, and HIS BANGS. I DO NOT WANT TO CHOP UP MY POOR BANGS AGAIN. MY CHILDHOOD... I DO NOT WANT TO RE-LIVE IT. NOSIREE.

I have a terminal fear of wigs. You guys are so cool. I could never wear one.

You actually did do a pretty good at the Ino cosplay, didn't you just modify clothes you already had? It was awsome

and you should definetly do Kanda (heehee X3) for one of the days, Dei for another, and I dunno what for the third day (for the third day most of us are doing FMA characters....who do you wanna be from FMA? and don't say Winry cuase I'm already being her...)?

Awww Thanks! I don't even remember what it looked like, lol! I was such a n00b back then... And no, I actually bought clothes. Then I mutilated those.

HAHA. BUT I'M SO LAZY. And Kanda... NO. YHAKDFS! I don't wanna hack up my bangs! And I'd have to! And I haven't even really READ FMA. I've read just enough to know the story and some/most of the characters. Bwargh.
